Controller

Responsible for the financial affairs of EBID and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of the Board of Directors. Responsible for financial plans and policies, accounting practices, relationships with the constituent community, the maintenance of fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The staff position is responsible for subordinate department accounting functions of the tax department (accounts receivable) general accounting (payroll and accounts payable), human resource (employee and safety management), purchasing department (procurement and inventory) and property/fixed asset accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls. The responsibilities of this position include the following functions:

• Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of EBID.
• Responsible for the performance of personnel in all accounting department areas.
• Maintains EBID system of accounts and keeps books and records on all financial transactions and assets.
• Recommends economic objectives and policies for EBID and prepares reports that outline the financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
• Responsible for the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures.
• Responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
• Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.
• Involved in evaluation and recommendation for insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
