Elephant Butte Irrigation District set the flat rate irrigation schedule during yesterday’s Board of Directors meeting. This year’s 14-inch allotment allowed them to set aside two weekends for EBID members who own small tract acreage to irrigate: May 30-31 and June 27-28.

Flat rate accounts are defined as less than two acres of land owned within EBID boundaries with water rights and paid in full status. The average delivery charge for small tracts is 6 inches (6”). Flat Rate accounts may water only once during the scheduled flat rate weekend from midnight Friday night until midnight Sunday night.

Irrigators are encouraged to coordinate with their neighbors to clean canals in preparation for efficient watering. Good communication between irrigators will also improve watering speed and help prevent problems as each property owner takes their turn with their surface water allotment. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

For questions please contact the EBID main office at 526-6671. Irrigators may refer to the EBID website www.ebid-nm.org  for important updates throughout the irrigation season. You can also follow us on FaceBook for additional information.
